The SAT is a streamlined 2-hour digital test, designed to reduce fatigue and help students stay focused. Reading passages are shorter and more direct.

Reading Test

The Reading and Writing section questions are divided into four content realms:

  1. Craft and Structure- This segment exists primarily to assess comprehension, vocabulary, analysis, synthesis, and reasoning abilities, as well as knowledge. Furthermore, evaluate texts rhetorically and build links between topically related texts by employing high-utility words and phrases.
  2. Information and Ideas- This segment evaluates comprehension, analysis, and reasoning skills, along with knowledge. The ability to locate, comprehend, evaluate, and integrate information and ideas through text and graphics.
  3. Standard English Conventions- This section examines the ability to change texts while adhering to Standard English sentence structure, use, and punctuation.
  4. Expression of Ideas- This segment measures the ability to modify texts in order to increase the efficacy of written expression and to meet the set specific goals along with that.

The Reading and Writing section of the test consists of short reading passages or passage pairs, followed by a single multiple-choice question, with 4 choices. The questions in this section cover four content domains: Craft and Structure, Information and Ideas, Standard English Conventions, and Expression of Ideas.

The Math section of the test emphasizes the key areas of math that are crucial for success in college and careers. These areas include Algebra, Advanced Math, Problem-Solving and Data Analysis, and Geometry and Trigonometry. Similar to the Reading and Writing section, the Math section is also divided into two modules.

Throughout the Math section, you will encounter both multiple-choice and student-produced response questions. These questions are designed to assess your fluency, comprehension, and application of mathematical concepts, skills, and practices that are considered fundamental.

Scores range from 200 to 800 for (Reading and Writing) and (Math) with the total score between 400 to 1600.
